There are 375 Assembly of God churches in the Southern Missouri District.  We want to see a healthy youth ministry in each church...

Our Mission

The mission of Southern Missouri Youth Ministries is to equip and enhance youth ministry in the local church by providing relevant, life-changing events and programs for students, and quality training and networking of leaders.

Darin Poe - Director Darin’s mission is to be a loyal and loving husband, father, and friend who lives with a humility and intentionality that leads others toward a life of purpose and generosity. Darin was called to preach to students at the age of 16 at a Southern California Youth Camp.  From that point, Darin traveled and did youth services throughout California.  He attended Evangel University from 1984-1988, on a football scholarship.  After graduating in 1988, Darin became the youth pastor at Calvary Temple in Springfield, Missouri.  During the seven years at Calvary, he became involved in a variety of district events, which led to him eventually being asked to serve as the District Youth Director of Southern Missouri in 1996. Since 1996, Darin has passionately served students through camps, conventions, mission’s trips, and discipleship programs.  At the same time, he has developed many tools and programs to equip youth leaders.  Darin received his Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Evangel University in 2007. Darin has a heart to reach the world through the students and leaders his life is able to touch.  He has a great heart for missions, so any opportunity to speak about missions or Speed the Light is welcomed.  Southern Missouri Youth Ministries continues to equip and enhance youth ministry in the local church by providing relevant, life-changing events and programs for students, as well as quality training and equipping of youth leaders. Darin has been married for 28 years to Heather and has two children: Megan is 22, married to Nick Bearden, and a graduate of Evangel University; Gavin is 19 and a sophmore at Evangel.  They live in Springfield, Missouri.

Use me, God. Show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself.
— Martin Luther King, Jr
